Al was born and brought up in Wales and completted his B.A. Hons: Degree in Fine Art Newport, followed by a post-graduate course in Crdff. He now lives and works in Hampshire. The human figure has always been his main source of inspiration, since his early life drawing sessions at Art college. This fascination in the form, structure and movenment of the figure continues to be central to Al' work. The painting usually consist of a single figure. Over the years his paiting style has moved from a semi abstract style to a more traditional form of painting.
